Kaw Ong Eah
Yeay!!! At last after a very long lay off this is my second blog...
I've been thinking of something to write all this while in my blog, jus cant get the rite topic. But hehehehe now, i wanna share with all of you about -- FOOD..since I'm living in Penang and this small cozy place is also known as "Food Heaven", and also eating is one of my favourite past time :-D
It is now the ninth month of the chinese calendar...for most Penangites, it is the Kau Ong Eah (direct translation to English may be Nine Emporer God...im not sure, anyone who knows please lemme know). This is where some people go on vegetarian diet for the first nine days of the month, but for a not-so-religious guy like me i oni eat on the ninth day. It is now a time where almost everywhere u go u can see those yellow colored banners (advertisements)...

Yellow color seems to be the official color for Kaw Ong Eah, jus like red for Chinese New Year
Of course nowadays vegetarian food doesnt mean dat we only see those green colored things on our plate, there r now a lot of others much much more "appealing" & creative dishes eg pizzas, hokkien mee, pau, and even bah kut teh! The vendors used foo chok or flour (maybe jus my wild guess) to make some vege style "meat" dishes, jus to add in more variety to the dishes. I think on top of everybody's list of vege dish is the "vegetarian roast duck"...ermm i dunno how to describe, jus refer to the pics taken, take a look at the square flat brown colored thingy...mostly when i visit these stalls i always chose rice (add rice somemore) + a few other stuffs...sigh i have to admit someone wif big appetite like me always cant get full after eating veges (always....)

My plate of vegetarian rice...rice+vegetarian roast duck+fried beancurd+"mui choi"

My gf Nee's...rice+vegetarian roast duck+chai sim+tang hoon

hmm...this stall i went to is situated just opposite the police station in Penang Rd..hehe food was good+price was reasonable. If u dun wanna miss the fun, jus go to any Kau Ong Eah stalls, ull be amazed by the wide range of vege food on sale :-O
ok, i dun wan to write much, wanna go get smthing to eat now XD
